Rena Isemer

Dr. Rena Isemer is an Ecotoxicology Expert for Non-Target Terrestrial Plants and Science Fellow at Bayer Crop Science in Germany, where she has worked since 2015. Her expertise spans environmental risk assessment, regulatory science, non-target plant protection, drift exposure assessment, and the advancement of science-based approaches supporting sustainable crop protection. Rena is an active contributor to the international scientific community through conference presentations, publications, expert networks, and collaborative initiatives. She serves as Chair of the SETAC (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) Plants Interest Group and leads a European Precision Application Task Force (EUPAF) working group on including precision spray application technology into risk assessment and risk mitigation. In addition, she is actively involved in the International Advances in Pesticide Application (IAPA) community and the CropLife Europe Digital Agriculture and Risk Mitigation (DARM) team, contributing to the development of innovative approaches in precision application and drift mitigation. Through her engagement across academia, industry, and regulatory networks, she promotes scientific exchange and the translation of emerging science into regulatory practice. Rena holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany.
