Olga-Ioanna Kalantzi

Olga-Ioanna Kalantzi is a Professor of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology at the Department of Environment (University of the Aegean) in Mytilene, Greece. Her research focuses on the presence and exposure to legacy and emerging pollutants and their potential health eIects. She is also interested in the effects of urban green and blue spaces on human health and wellbeing.

Prior to joining the University of the Aegean, Prof. Kalantzi was a Research Associate at the Public Health Institute/Department of Toxic Substances Control in Berkeley, California, and a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Athens, Greece. She holds a PhD and an MSc in Environmental Science from Lancaster University (UK) and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biochemistry from Brunel University (UK).

Prof. Kalantzi has been on the editorial board of Elsevier’s Environment International journal for more than a decade. She has authored/co-authored more than 80 journal publications and conference papers and has made numerous contributions to international conferences as an invited speaker, presenter and chairperson.
