Dr. Laura McConnell is Senior University and Scientific Society Engagement Lead and Science Fellow at Bayer Crop Science. She has extensive experience in agricultural and environmental chemistry research, scientific publishing, and research communications. She works to accelerate innovation in agriculture by building collaborative communities that connect researchers across academia, industry, government, and scientific societies. McConnell has been actively engaged with IUPAC for many years, serving in leadership roles and supporting its mission to advance chemistry worldwide through international collaboration, scientific exchange, and the harmonization of chemical science. She is an ardent champion for diversity in science, serving as Co-Chair of the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast since 2019.
