Konstantinos Makris

Dr. Konstantinos C. Makris is a full professor of environmental health sciences and directs the Precision Exposomics and Health Laboratory (KLOTHO) at the Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health, School of Health Sciences at the Cyprus University of Technology. He also serves as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2026-2029). He served as an adjunct assistant professor of environmental health at the Department of Environmental Health, Harvard University, USA (2009-2015). He is the coordinator of the Cyprus Children’s Health and Environment Cohort Observatory CHILDREN_FIRST. The CLOTHO Lab applies the methodological principles of the Human Exposome concept and its exposomics tools to advance precision prevention and preventive health applications to chronic disease prevention and control. The Biomarkers Mass Spectrometry Unit is a mass spectrometry facility specializing in measurements of human biospecimen-based biomarkers of exposure/effect. He is a member of the Council of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) in Europe (2023-). He chairs the ISEE Special Interest Group of Pesticides and Health (2025-). He is a Collaborator of the Global Burden of Disease network (2021-).
