Ms. Ritter has over 30 years of experience working in the crop protection industry with special expertise in fate and transport modeling of pesticides to analyze the exposure in surface waters and the potential to leach to groundwater. She has managed numerous risk assessment studies for non-point source water quality issues. Ms. Ritter is the co-author of several fate and transport models (e.g., RICEWQ). She is experienced in the use of many global regulatory models to analyze aquatic and terrestrial exposure. She has pioneered procedures for conducting probabilistic risk assessments and for simulating pesticide fate and transport associated with rice agriculture in the United States, Europe, Japan, and China and banana agriculture in Costa Rica. She was the lead investigator on several industry-wide working groups including the FIFRA Exposure Model Validation Task Force. In 2012 she served as a hearing expert to the Work Group for preparing two scientific Opinions on the report of FOCUS ground water. She has experience with the development of down-the-drain models. She has participated as an instructor in Risk Assessment workshops sponsored by IUPAC in China, Colombia, Chile, and Costa Rica.
