Zisis Vryzas

Zisis Vryzas is Associate Professor and Head of the Pesticide Science Laboratory at the School of Agricultural Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Plant Protection), M.Sc., and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Pharmacology and previously served in all academic ranks at the Democritus University of Thrace (2009–2023).
His teaching and research focus on agricultural pharmacology, ecotoxicology, pesticide environmental fate and risk assessment, residue analysis, water remediation, and pesticide interactions with microorganisms and plants and biopesticides.
He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications (>2,700 citations, h-index 29, Scopus), delivered invited lectures internationally, and presented at over 70 scientific conferences. He has served as reviewer, evaluator, and scientific advisor for national and international organizations, including IUPAC, SETAC, EFSA, and the Greek Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, and has participated in numerous European and international research projects.
