Ilias Travlos

Dr. Travlos Ilias is a Professor of Agronomy & Weed Science of the Agricultural University of Athens and the President of European Weed Research Society, EWRS (2026-2027). He has been a member of the Organizing and Scientific Committees in national and international Scientific Symposia related with weeds and crops. He has been the President of Weed Science Society of Greece (2017-2021) and National Representative of Greece in EWRS (2015-2018). He has reviewed more than 100 papers and is/was an Associate Editor of several scientific journals and special issues. He has published more than 150 papers in refereed international scientific journals, book chapters (invited) and many other papers in congress proceedings. He is listed in the list of Standford University with the 2% of the scientists with the highest impact. Invited speaker in International Conferences and Invited Professor in European Universities. Dr. Travlos has been involved in several EU funded (among them H2020, Horizon Europe, EU INCO, LIFE 07, LIFE 09 and FP7) and many national and cooperative projects. Dr. Travlos is currently the coordinator of the Horizon VALERECO & SOLILA projects, WP Leader in GOOD & ForestAgriGreenNudge projects and he specializes in weed diversity and ecology, agroecology, ecosystem services, integrated weed management systems, weed surveys, agronomy, precision agriculture, weed biology, herbicide resistance, and crop-weed interactions. His research group in Agricultural University of Athens named WEST-WEed Science Team is already a member of European Network of Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures.
